National List of Essential Medicines
The concept of essential drugs was first used by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the 1970s to enable member states to cope with the proliferation of drugs on the market by taking a better cost / cost ratio. efficiency of resources allocated to health through selection and rational management of medicines.

Since this first edition, the National List of Essential Medicines has been revised successively in 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2015 and 2017.
